Values and purpose of the Le Garrec Group

We are a family-owned group committed to entrepreneurship and investment to contribute to building a sustainable world.
Our mission is to preserve and enhance vital marine and energy resources by developing products and services of excellence, positioned throughout the entire supply chain.
Based on the French coast, our crews, shore-based teams, and partners share the same commitment: preserving resources, promoting quality products, and supporting maritime employment. Fishing, processing, logistics—three complementary businesses, one shared goal: a sustainable and responsible industry.

Our Values

They guide our daily actions and behaviors, as well as our medium- to long-term strategy. They inspire the relationships we build with our clients and partners, and motivate our commitment to developing the skills of our employees.

Professional Partnerships & Collaborations

The partnership approach is favoured within the LE GARREC Group.

We build long-term relationships by respecting all stakeholders. In this spirit, we foster connections and create synergies between regions, their stakeholders, and our professions. In the area of training, we have established partnerships with vocational training organizations and associations that support people returning to work.

  • We actively participate in the relationship between the business world and these organizations in order to design training programs and pathways tailored to the sector’s needs. Our companies are open to the outside world (open days for schools and associations, interns, apprentices, job seekers, etc.).
  • Where we are located, we have developed a local network with the entire socio-economic fabric: businesses, communities, administrations.
  • We collaborate with our partners in the fishing, processing and logistics sectors by participating in the work and missions of professional organizations (UAPF, SARPC, Union du Mareyage, USNEF, SNCE…).

Partnerships
innovation

Concerned about the preservation of resources, all our fishing data is transmitted in full to fisheries managers and scientific organizations (IFREMER, National Museum of Natural History).

Sensitive to all environmental issues, we have been involved with METEO France since 2017 in the collection of meteorological data.
We also work with the AQUIMER competitiveness cluster and are associated with the Nouvelles Vagues technical research center, the QUALITROPIC cluster (based in Réunion), REUNION ECOEX, and others.
We also contribute to the preservation of marine heritage through our involvement with the Nausicaa Endowment Fund. Since sustainability is deeply linked to traceability, we are modernizing our IT systems by digitizing them to guarantee and secure information. As part of our continuous process improvement, product tracking is carried out throughout the entire supply chain. The goal is to guarantee the origin of our products, including those of our customers, and to secure the distribution network.

A shareholder of Nausicaa since December 2021, Le Garrec is the first fishing company to acquire a stake in the national sea center of Europe’s largest aquarium.
This move is fully aligned with the LE Garrec Group’s mission and its commitment to sustainable practices, based on the preservation and enhancement of marine resources.
