Founded in 1965, NORFRIGO is a family business born from the conviction of Boulogne shipowners that the future of fishing would henceforth depend on cold storage. Norfrigo’s corporate purpose is the operation of cold storage warehouses, the storage of frozen products, and the production of water ice (flake ice).

1965
Since its inception, thanks to its FRANCEGEL establishment, NORFRIGO operates the largest icehouse in France (20,000 tonnes per year) and serves the entire fishing industry of the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer: fishing fleets, cooperatives, fish wholesalers, retailers, fishmongers, supermarkets (GMS), transporters.
2015
NORFRIGO and STEF have joined forces in a joint venture in order to pool their logistics expertise.
The expertise and experience of these two companies, recognized in the frozen food market, make them the local leader.
2020
NORFRIGO & CONEGAN
Conegan, an expert in packaging and enhancing frozen products, joins the LE GARREC GROUP and connects with Norfrigo to provide a complete, personalized service and simplified marketing of products for all frozen food professionals.

ORGANIZATION
NORFRIGO has remained a human-sized company.
Close management fosters a culture of service-oriented thinking and responsiveness, highly valued in the service industry. Small teams promote employee versatility, enabling greater flexibility, responsiveness, and optimal service continuity. Operational management consists of:

The operation of our warehouses is based on quality management.
The constantly updated information system is specifically designed for cold storage inventory management. It offers secure, real-time online access to inventory, movement, and historical data. It also enables the automation of controls and tasks using standardized barcodes (GS1) and onboard terminals.
Gender equality index
In accordance with legal requirements, Norfrigo publishes the results of its gender equality index for the year 2026, based on 2025 data.
For the 2025 fiscal year, the overall index cannot be calculated out of 100 points, as some indicators cannot be measured due to the workforce structure.
However, the calculable indicators achieve the maximum possible score of 45 out of 45 points.
- Difference in individual salary increase rates: indicator favorable to women – 35/35 points
- Representation of the underrepresented gender among the 10 highest earners: perfect equality – 10/10 points
These results reflect Norfrigo’s commitment to professional equality and a fair remuneration policy, applied objectively and transparently to all employees.
OUR CLIENTS
NORFRIGO’s clientele consists of manufacturers (representing a quarter of its turnover) and a multitude of distributors, almost all of whose products originate from countries outside the European Union. Due to its location in France, NORFRIGO attracts trade from Northern Europe, Great Britain, Belgium, and the Netherlands, as well as more locally from Le Havre (import/export flows). Products are then transported by truck or container via highways. These operators, based in the region, have suppliers worldwide. Several of them can become clients of the company. The company’s client portfolio reflects a certain diversity in the nature of the products.
