7 warehouses.<br\/>It involves modifying part of the refrigeration system for these warehouses to meet a reduced energy footprint, regulatory requirements, and lower energy costs (due to an initial 5% annual increase in energy prices in 2016).<br\/>Currently, the system is shown in the adjacent figure, where condensation in the R134A circuit is achieved using air-cooled condensers located on the warehouse roof.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Norfrigo&#8217;s Thalassothermal Energy Concept:<\/strong><br\/>These air-cooled condensers will be replaced by a glycol-water heat exchanger to transfer heat into the Loubet basin.<br\/>It would be possible to bypass this intermediate loop and thus improve the system&#8217;s efficiency by using a direct connection, but Norfrigo does not wish to be the operator of the seawater pump (discharge liability \u2013 water law).<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"294\" src=\"https:\/\/sc7grsc9582.universe.wf\/norfrigo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/05\/schema.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-626\" style=\"width:530px;height:auto\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sc7grsc9582.universe.wf\/norfrigo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/05\/schema.png 683w, http:\/\/sc7grsc9582.universe.wf\/norfrigo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/05\/schema-300x129.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Norfrigo, winner of the 2023 Hauts-de-France innovative companies awards in the &#8220;Saving money&#8221; category. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>On Friday, December 1, 2023, Charles Vanappelghem, director of Norfrigo, received this award recognizing our innovative approach at the headquarters of the Hauts-de-France Region.
