A history,
a recognized expertise

In 1930, Captain Paul-Emile LE GARREC, a former Cape Horner and then a pilot at the Port of Boulogne sur Mer, founded the fishing company
LE GARREC ET CIE in Boulogne sur mer.

Four generations later

The LE GARREC Group has become a leading player in the seafood industry. Today, with a presence in several territories and maritime zones around the world, the group has adapted and evolved to keep pace with the times.

Over the course of its century of existence, the Le Garrec shipping company has had to master numerous fishing techniques and its boats have had to work on many seas and oceans around the globe:

  • North Atlantic, off the coasts of Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Spitsbergen, the Grand Banks of Newfoundland and Saint Pierre and Miquelon, in the North Sea and the English Channel as well as in Mauritanian waters.
  • South Atlantic in the waters of Namibia.
  • Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean, for the capture of tropical tuna off the coast of Africa.
  • Indian Ocean and Southern Ocean (Kerguelen and Crozet Islands) from Reunion Island, for longline fishing.

Over time, the fishing activity has been complemented with associated services such as the packaging, processing and logistics of frozen seafood products.

Our goal is to become your preferred partner, ready to support you at every stage of your development.
